The Blood Shed, the Blood Applied

The Bible mentions blood over 400x. Why is that? Covenant. The path to redemption is one paved with blood.  There is pattern throughout Scripture, beginning in the Garden of Eden, that anywhere blood has been shed, there's also a need for it to be applied. What does that look like under the New Covenant? We must understand, although the work of Jesus is finished, it isn't automatic.
